Coppice Childcare - Shard End aims to promote enthusiasm, self confidence and independence in our children.  We believe play is vital for children, it helps them understand the world around them and to develop socially and emotionally. It is through play that our children learn, develop at their own pace and have fun with adults who understand, support and care about them. We want the children we care for to feel secure and to have the confidence to deal develop to their own individual full potential.

We recognise that children are unique and using highly effective and thorough planning, on-going meaningful observations and assessments, we plan for children’s interests and needs in partnership with parents/carers to ensure that children move forward at a pace appropriate for their individual needs.

To help us we promote The Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) which was first introduced in September 2008 and is made up of a Statutory Framework for the Early Years which sets the standards for learning, development and care for children from birth to five years. The EYFS documentation supports practitioners in assessing children’s progress and helps them to provide the best learning experience for all our babies and children. The aim is to ensure that every child is given the opportunity to learn through high quality play experiences. In September 2012 and April 2017 the EYFS was revised to focus more on the things that matter most and there is now also a greater emphasis on the role parents and carers have in helping children develop.

Coppice Childcare - Shard End combine caring with education by following the appropriate curriculum.   We believe that learning should be stimulating for young children, so play times are educational as well as fun.  The Management team are continuously developing new and exciting ways of encouraging child development in a safe and stimulating environment.
